Originally from the Netherlands, Maud’s artistic formation has its base in Florida. Her paintings, ceramics, and film from this period reflect the luminosity, colour, and attitude of a laid back, subtropical environment. Pink, a short movie with vignettes saturated with that colour, was at once an abstract take on movie-making as well as an alternative to slash movies popular at the time.

Nature and landscapes are always prominent in Maud’s art. Vancouver is a lush green model that influences her current work. Her explorations in multi-angled canvas shapes address disorder and chance in nature.

Maud continues to incorporate flashes of lightness in her artwork to communicate possibilities, with a philosophical nod to the absurd.
